日本の大学（とくに文系）は、学生たちに「勉強なんかしなくていいんだよ。大学でいろいろ難しいことを習うがそんなの社会にでて何の役にもたたないよ。知識を身につけ論理的な思考をするより、他者の顔色を見てうまく合わせる（コミュニケーション能力）ほうが重要だよ」という誤ったメッセージを強力に送り出してしまう環境なのだ。

こうした文系の学生たちが就職し、やがて会社の管理職・経営者になっていく。何か問題がおきたとき、それを専門知識によって解決するより、「汗水たらして」体力で解決しようとする傾向が強まるのは当然のことだろう。学生時代に「知識なんてお飾りだ」という刷り込みを受けているので、頭で考えてスマートに解決しようという発想にならない。骨の髄まで浸透した反知性主義である。
